Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is a test that is conducted across the world in every year in the specially designated testing centres. This is conducted by the Law School Admission Council and the main design assesses reading, logical proficiency, verbal reasoning and comprehension. LSAT - India is a branch of the same and is administered in India by Pearson VUE.

Logical Reasoning I & II:
It primarily deals with logical deductions, critical evaluations, and analysis of arguments which are usually very general in nature. This section requires the candidate to read and comprehend the text and answer short questions on what they can derive the same. The problems in the question are formed in such a manner that it tests the reasoning and logical skills of a candidate.
Analytical Reasoning:
This part basically measures the candidate’s ability to draw logical conclusions based on relationship structure. The questions reflect complex analysis that a candidate is expected to solve through application and deduction skills. For e.g.: a set of statements will be provided or some rules and principles would be provided from which the candidate has to analyse the logic and apply it to reach to a conclusion.
Reading Comprehension:
This section primarily tests a candidate’s ability and speed to read along with insightfully understanding the same. This part contains various selection of reading material, followed by 4 - 9 questions related to the reading excerpts provided. The section basically tests a person's ability to understand what they are reading.

Paper pattern of LSAT Exam 2018 is as follows:
- LSAT India is designed on the USA based model. The LSAT follows prescribed specifications strictly every year and each question is tested to multiple levels of review to ensure that one question can have only one answer.
- The paper is divided into 4 parts: Logical Reasoning Part 1, Logical Reasoning Part 2, Analytical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension.
- The exam pattern contains objective type questions with 4 - 5 options for each multiple choice question.
- The total duration of time allotted for the LSAT Exam 2018 is 02 hours and 20 minutes. The total number of questions varies from 90-100.
- Each answer carries the weight of 1 mark and negative marking is not followed as a criterion.
Registration process for the LSAT Exam is as follows:
- Candidates can register online for LSAT on www.lsat.fdshive.com; the registration for the same started from 4th October 2017 and the window is open till 9th May 2018.
- The registration fee is INR 3800/- and the same can be transferred online through debit/ credit cards only.
- Once a candidate successfully registers, all candidates are assigned a unique registration number and this must be mandatorily mentioned while submitting the application forms to the associated colleges.
- Once the registration number is obtained by the candidate, the application form must be downloaded and filled. Post this all registrants have to pay the fee within the stipulated time.
- The onus is on the candidate to thoroughly understand the requirements of eligibility as no refund for the same is possible.
LSAT - India Syllabus for 2018:
LSAT - India does not have a set syllabus for the paper thus the exam coordinator does not provide for a specific LSAT-India Syllabus. As mentioned above LSAT India is divided into four main sections i.e. the Analytical Reasoning Section; the Logical reasoning Section I & II, and the Reading Comprehension.The test is formulated and designed in such a way that it does not test previous knowledge.
